Install Claude Code using its official setup guide, then complete a first request. This configuration is for Claude models; it does not make Claude Code a general GPT client.

Use the root https://api.neatrouter.com without /v1. Replace the key and allowed Claude model ID, then start in the same terminal:

export ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL='https://api.neatrouter.com'
export ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN='your-api-key'

claude --model 'your-claude-model-id'

Run a short task. If another account or URL is still used, inspect existing environment variables and user settings for conflicting credentials. Check console usage to confirm the account receiving the request.

Keep keys out of shared project .claude/settings.json files. See the official gateway guide for more options. Features depend on client version, model tools and permissions. For 401, 403 or 429, check the error reference.
